Who is listed in the Alumni Directory?
The Alumni Directory seeks to include listings for every alumnus living or deceased, of the graduate material culture and art conservation programs at Winterthur. We are continually making additions and corrections to this list. If you know of someone who is not listed, please let us know at [email protected].
How do I see my profile page? Do I need to be a member of the Society to have one?
Each alumnus for whom the Society has information has a profile page that can be accessed regardless of their membership status in the Society. If you cannot access your page, it means that 1) We do not have an updated email address for you; or 2) We do not have you in our database. In either case, notify us at [email protected] so that we can rectify the situation.
I am a member of the Society, but I still can't access the directory. What do I do?
In this case, the Society does not have your proper email address. Send us an email with your name and preferred email address, and we will remedy the situation.
Who can see my listing in the Alumni Directory? Can outside parties access my personal information?
The searchable Alumni Directory is passcode protected, and only dues-paying members of the Society of Winterthur Fellows can access it. You can control what others see by selecting from a menu of privacy options to keep your information—street address, phone number, email access etc.—from appearing in the directory. You can also choose not to be listed in the online directory. To update your privacy settings go to the Directory page on our web site and select Update Your Listing from the drop down menu. Once there, click on the Options button, which will take you to Privacy Options.
The Society of Winterthur Fellows does not use the alumni database to distribute information on behalf of or lease its directory to third parties.
Why is there no printed directory?
With more than 950 alumni, a printed directory is prohibitively expensive to produce and ship. Additionally, with so much more information to track—email addresses mobile phones, titles, etc.—any printed directory would be outdated as soon as it were published. The Society works on a tight budget, while delivering the information alumni need and want. Harnessing technology is one way we can do this. Our searchable Alumni Directory is far more robust than any printed directory could be, and it has the benefit of being updated continually by each individual alumnus.
How can I become a mentor or join a committee?
Go to Update My Listing. In the "About" section, you will see the selection menus for mentoring and joining committees. When you select "Mentor", you will automatically be listed in the online directory as someone that other alumni can contact for help or questions. If you select a committee, the committee chairperson will contact you directly.
How can I find a mentor using the directory?
To search for a mentor, go to the searchable Alumni Directory and click on Find a Mentor .
